The Summer Health Careers Institute (SHCI)

SRJC Health Sciences department and Sutter Health presents the 2026 Summer Health Careers Institute (SHCI).

SHCI (HLC120) is a 3-unit credit-based course for high school students interested in exploring careers in healthcare. SHCI is intended for students entering their senior year of high school and recent high school graduates who will be entering their first year of college.

Students will be introduced to opportunities in healthcare careers through lecture, laboratory, and experiences in clinical settings. Students will complete various certification trainings and learn about healthcare job trends, education, and licensure requirements.

Submit your complete application with all required immunizations starting April 2 - April 23,
